Remember . . .
"Forgiveness is the
ultimate
preventative medicine, as well as
the greatest healer"
"Conflict is inevitable,
but fighting is a choice."

Our cells are constantly
eavesdropping on our thoughts and being changed by them. A bout of
depression can wreak havoc with the immune system; falling in love can
boost it. Despair and helplessness raise the risk of heart
attacks and cancer, thereby shortening life. Joy and fulfillment keep
us healthy and extend life. This means that the line between biology
and psychology can't really be drawn with any certainty. A remembered
stress,
which is only a wisp of thought, releases the same flood of
destructive
hormones as the stress itself. -- Deepak Chopra |

"Bowen Therapy can
be beneficial for patients with all forms of cancer when
incorporated into a patient’s cancer management regimen, as it can
help counteract many of the painful side effects associated with
chemo and other cancer treatment methods.
Bowen Therapy treatments
can help reduce pain and may lessen the anxiety and stress often
experienced by cancer patients." |

About Bowen . . .
Bowen
Technology Therapy was developed in Australia by Thomas A.
Bowen (1916-1982). After serving in World War II, he became
interested in ways to alleviate human suffering and began to
notice that certain moves on the body had particular
effects. Over a period of several years he developed the
system as it is used today. In Bowen therapy, some of the
areas that are worked on are the trigger point locations, and
some are acupressure meridians.
Bowen technology (commonly known as Bowtech) allows the body
to reset and heal itself with most people experiencing a
profound sense of relaxation and loosening of muscle tension.
It uses a light, specific touch with a rolling motion on an
out-of-alignment muscle. The touch signals the nerves beneath
to signal the brain to move the muscle back to where it
belongs, like a reset button.
A Bowen session consists of a series of gentle movements on
the skin (or through a light cloth or clothing), with the
client normally lying on a bed or treatment table.
Bowen sessions usually last for one hour resulting overall in
a deep sense of relaxation which allows the body to recharge
and balance itself. Bowen therapy is a very gentle,
noninvasive form of bodywork that doesn't require a long
series of treatments. Some therapists using Bowen therapy
treat people only once a week for a month and then once a
month for six months.
Success stories include relief from pain caused by frozen
shoulder, carpel tunnel, sciatica, TMJ, and general back pain.
As a certified Holistic Nurse, I am able to work together with
you and your physician toward the goal of healing and pain
reduction.
Please Note:
While Bowen Therapy can
help speed up recovery time, the Bowen Technique is not ever
meant to replace any other medical treatment, however, due to
its high rate of success, more and more members of the medical
community are quite impressed with the effectiveness of this
therapy and are referring patients to practitioners. |
